Computer-aided dental manufacturing technologies used in fabrication of metal frameworks

چکیده
Metal alloys have been used for many years as framework material of dental restorations. The conventional lost-wax and casting method, which was very popular in fabrication metal frameworks, are now being replaced by computer-aided manufacturing technologies. Computer-aided methods offer advantages, such standardization quality manufacturing, precise fit restorations, improved mechanical strength. Digital technologies frameworks simply classified subtractive additive systems, each their own subdivisions, show differences the technology. This review summarizes systems terms use practice, disadvantages provides clinical recommendations.

متن کاملClassifications and Properties of Materials for Chairside Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing Dentistry: A Review
Background and Aim: Chairside computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems have become considerably more accurate, reliable, efficient, fast, and prevalent since 1985 when CEREC was introduced. The inceptive restorative material option for chairside CAD/CAM restorations was limited to ceramic blocks. Today, restorative material options have been multiplied and include me...
متن کاملDual-scan technique for the customization of zirconia computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing frameworks
The use of bi-layered all-ceramic crowns has continuously grown since the introduction of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) zirconia cores. Unfortunately, despite the outstanding mechanical properties of zirconia, problems related to porcelain cracking or chipping remain. One of the reasons for this is that ceramic copings are usually milled to uniform thicknesses of ...
متن کاملFractography of clinically fractured, implant-supported dental computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing crowns
Today, a substantial part of the dental crown production uses computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology. A recent step in restorative dentistry is the replacement of natural tooth structure with pre-polymerized and machined resin-based methacrylic polymers. Recently, a new CAD/CAM composite was launched for the crown indication in the load-bearing area, but the...
متن کاملComputer-aided manufacturing technologies for guided implant placement.
Implant treatment increasingly focuses on the reduction of treatment time and postoperative impairment. The improvement of 3D dental diagnosis by ConeBeam computed tomography allows detailed preparation for the surgical placement of dental implants under prosthetic considerations. While the first generation of implant planning software used high-contrast multislice computed tomography, software...
